Why the name “ionava”?

There’s a lot packed into the name. Let’s sound it out together: I-O-NA-VA.

The first part sounds like: I own. As in I own my health. My health is my greatest asset—without it, life is nowhere near as good.

This was the idea we kept coming back to, when deciding the name for this company. Your body is a temple, or in ionava’s speech your body is a vault. It is a wonderful gift to be a human being on this planet, in this body. You want to be able to enjoy the ride inside and take care of it as best you can.

So when you say ionava, it’s almost like saying I OwN A VAult—a vault of health. It’s your health, the temple you protect. It also refers to our ionava Vault that covers the ‘Big What-Ifs’ giving you peace of mind and personal agency to unlock resources if something Major ever happens.

That’s what Vaults do: they keep things safe, and they make you feel safe.

Then there’s the other half of the name: Nava. We want our solution to feel novel and innovative—breaking the system in a good way.

Because that second meaning is the heart of why we exist. Too many people are forced to choose between their health and their finances in their healthiest years, or then feel stuck saving for retirement. Our purpose is to make that choice disappear—to help people choose health without financial anxiety.

That’s also what we set out to do in practice: reward health, restore agency, and replace fear with clarity. When responsibility is resourced instead of punished, health, wealth, and conscious care stop pulling against each other and start pulling together—and pursuing your own vitality becomes something you can do with trust and ease.
